3 dead, 3 injured as tractor-trolley overturns in Kasganj
AGRA Three people were killed and three others critically injured after a tractor-trolley overturned in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj district on Thursday evening.
The accident occurred around 6 pm on the Nardoli-Bahora road in Nagla Jaili village under Sikandarpur Vaish police station limits. Police said the tractor’s bumper suddenly broke, causing the attached trolley to go out of control and overturn.
The victims — Maharaj Singh (60), Mukesh (50), and Rajendra — were returning from a nearby village after offering condolences over a relative’s death. All three died on the spot.
The injured — Vineeta (45), Sunita (35), and Bijendra (50) — suffered serious head and leg injuries. After primary treatment at a local facility, they were referred to a higher medical centre as their condition remained critical.
Administrative and police officials reached the spot soon after being alerted. The bodies were sent for post-mortem after completing formalities.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences to the bereaved families and directed officials to expedite relief and rescue operations.
Kasganj Police said, “Following the accident, officials reached the scene and sent the injured to hospital for treatment. After preparing the panchayatnama of the deceased, the bodies were sent to the mortuary for post-mortem examination. Necessary legal proceedings are being carried out at the police station level.”
