2 students killed, 1 critical in crash while returning after board exam
Agra: Two Class 10 students were killed and another critically injured after a speeding pickup truck rammed into their motorcycle in the Tarauli area under Godha police station limits near Alampur Kayasthan in Aligarh on Friday evening while they were returning from their board examination. Police said the three boys had appeared for their examination at KL Inter College and were heading back to their village on a single motorcycle when the pickup struck them.Arvind Singh, 16, and Gopal Singh, 17, both residents of Alampur Kayasthan, died at the spot. Satyendra Singh, from the same village, sustained serious injuries and was first taken to a local hospital before being referred to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Aligarh. Family members said the impact of the collision threw the boys onto the road. Police reached the scene after receiving information, took custody of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination. SHO Kamal Pratap Chauhan said, "The bodies were sent for post-mortem. No formal complaint has been filed so far. Investigation is underway, and action will be taken accordingly." Officials said efforts are under way to trace the pickup truck driver, who fled the scene after the accident.
Former village head Pravindra Kumar said the students studied at ACN Inter College in their village and had their exam centre at KL Inter College. "The post-mortem was conducted and the bodies were handed over in the evening. The families are engaged in cremations, and a police complaint will be registered soon," he said.
