: With 497 and 496 marks respectively, Kaushal Singh and Sanchali Sharma from

Mathura

have secured a place for themselves among the top 10 candidates from the Allahabad region. Class X results of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board were declared on Monday. Securing 99.4% marks, Kaushal Singh from Shriji Baba Saraswati Vidya Mandir stood at the 93rd position in the country toppers’ list. He said, “I was expecting good marks. Regular studies are more important than counting study hours and that is what I do.” He said he wants to be an IAS officer and serve the country.

Sanchali Sharma, a student of RLPKD Vidya Mandir Govardhan, said that her results were as per her expectations. She said, “I want to become an engineer.” In an advice to her peers, she said students should focus on their studies rather than focusing on marks as it can spoil the result. Her father, Gopal Krishna Sharma, works as a clerk in the same school. “It is really a big thing for me. No one in my family has ever secured a position among the top students' list. It gives me immense pride,” he said.

Yogesh Kumar Gupta from Jaunpur topped with 499 marks in the region, Ayushi Pushkar and Isha Srivastava from Lucknow and Guarav Singh from Chandauli bagged the second position with 498 marks. Six students, including Sanchali, secured 496 marks. The overall pass percentage of Allahabad region is 92.55%.
