2 killed, 7 hurt in car-truck collision in Agra
Agra: Two people, including a five-year-old girl, were killed and seven others injured after a car travelling from Noida towards Madhya Pradesh's Bhind district collided with an oncoming truck on Bah-Fatehabad road in Agra around 5am on Tuesday.Police said the impact was so severe that the car, being driven by Bhuri Singh, a resident of Anuppur village in Madhya Pradesh, was completely damaged. Singh was travelling home for Holi with his wife, Chandrika, daughters Anyaya (11), Shivanya (7), Tanu (5), his associate Ramkumar (45), Ramkumar's wife Rekha (40), and their children Sushant (11) and Mandeep (8).Tanu died on the spot, while Ramkumar, who was seated in the front passenger seat, was critically injured and trapped inside the vehicle. Police personnel had to cut open the car to extricate him. However, nearly 30 minutes after he was pulled out, he succumbed to his injuries.Police said the remaining occupants suffered serious injuries and were taken to different hospitals in Agra, where doctors said their condition was stable. The truck driver is on the run."Upon receiving information, a team from Fatehabad police station rushed to the spot and sent all the injured for treatment to the hospital, where two individuals, including a 5-year-old girl, were declared dead by doctors. The treatment of the other injured individuals is ongoing. The family members have been informed, and further legal proceedings are underway," read a statement by Agra police.
