Agra: Two children - Prashant Jatav, 9, and Lakshman Kumar, 12 - drowned in Utangan river in Varna village of Fatehabad on Monday morning while grazing goats nearby. Both were students of a local school and studied in Classes IV and VI, respectively.
Locals said the children decided to take a bath in the river and entered a deeper stretch, where they began to drown. On receiving information, a police team reached the spot and launched a search operation. After nearly an hour, the two children were pulled out of the river and taken to CHC Fatehabad, where doctors declared them dead.

Imran Ahmed said, “The bodies have been sent for postmortem and will be handed over to the families after completion of legal formalities.”
