AGRA: Around 1000 students of Basic Education schools of Agra on Monday took out a “School Chalo Rally” here in order to create awareness about sending children to schools. The rally, which saw students raising slogans with placards and banners in hands, was aimed at kids who had dropped out of schools or were unable to attend classes.

and basic siksha adhikari (BSA) Agra Archana Gupta.
Talking in this regard, Gupta said, “Around 1000 students from Agra city and other blocks participated in the ‘School Chalo Campaign’ with an aim to promote education among children who do not attend schools. It will encourage parents to send their kids to schools.”
“The campaign will continue till the end of April. Throughout the month, various rallies, door-to-door visits, awareness campaigns and other programs will be conducted,” she added.
City secretary of Uttar Pradeshiya Prathamik Shikshak Sangh, Rajeev Verma, said, “The students were accompanied by their class teachers. It is a good initiative and will hopefully increase the number of children in schools. Teachers will focus on students who drop out. Parents will be informed about the midday meal scheme and the provisions of free schoolbags, uniforms and textbooks for students.”

at Idgah locality, agreed. “It will encourage children to attend schools. Parents wouldn’t have to pay for their children’s education if they send them to Basic Education schools,” she said.
