NEW DELHI: Sixteen people, including ten policemen, were injured in a road accident involving a bus and a car on the Agra-Mumbai National Highway in Madhya Pradesh’s Shajapur district during the early hours of Friday, officials said.
According to Bharat Singh Kirar, in-charge of the Sunera police station, the accident occurred between 1 am and 2 am, about 12 km from the Shajapur district headquarters.
The policemen were on duty and travelling by bus from Bhind district to Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) when the incident took place.
Both the bus and the car overturned after the collision. While all 16 people sustained injuries, none were reported to be seriously hurt.
Police teams rushed to the spot soon after the incident, rescued the occupants of both vehicles and took them to the Shajapur district hospital for treatment.
Locals alleged that the bus rammed into the car. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
