Tripura launches apps to monitor anganwadis, govt scheme delivery

Agartala: Tripura govt has launched two separate geo-tagging-enabled mobile apps to monitor the activities of anganwadi centres and services being extended to the beneficiaries of various govt schemes, especially women and children, social welfare minister Tinku Roy said on Friday.The application has been developed indigenously to streamline the attendance of anganwadi workers and service delivery in rural communities. It can only be accessed after entering the premises of the anganwadi centres. Stating that the Centre has launched a similar app to monitor the functioning of anganwadis, Roy said, “The difference between the centrally launched application and ours lies in the geo tagging feature. Anganwadi workers had long enjoyed the privilege of filing daily reports in a central application from anywhere, which empowered them to manipulate the timing of the centre’s operations.”More than four lakh children are enrolled in 10,000 anganwadi centres across the state.

Bengal Anganwadi centres promote nutrition awareness through diet rangolis and cooking shows

Anganwadi Centres in West Bengal are using innovative methods to boost nutrition as part of the Poshan Maah campaign. Activities like nutrient-rich Rangolis, cooking shows, and handwashing demonstrations are being held. The Mayureswar ICDS in Birbhum district has led a community event with plantation drives and educational meetings on maternal nutrition and hygiene.

200ml milk a day for 62k anganwadi, 88k school kids

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation decides to provide 200ml of milk daily to 62,000 anganwadi children and three times a week to 88,000 school board children. Rs 5 crore will be allocated per zone for infrastructure improvements by Diwali. Additional measures include installing solar panels on AMC buildings and setting up green waste disposal systems.

Centre to pay agency Rs 15-25crto monitor new Zuari bridge

The Union road transport ministry has mandated independent monitoring for the new Zuari bridge's health, in addition to its maintenance contract. Special sensors will be installed to detect structural issues like corrosion and displacement. This initiative aims at preventive maintenance, ensuring no traffic disruptions or bridge failures occur.
