Tripura to digitise records of patients, healthcare workers

Agartala: The NHM in Tripura has taken an initiative to digitise the records of patients registered in hospitals and healthcare professionals of both public and private healthcare facilities under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
Additional mission director (NHM Tripura) Binoy Bhushan Das emphasised the integration of healthcare professionals, pharmacies and laboratories onto a unified digital platform. Any patient reported to a hospital will receive an Ayushman Bharat Health Account card with a unique identification number.
“The number will serve as a repository for the individual’s complete medical history, including prescriptions, test reports, treatments and other pertinent health information. With the patient’s consent, doctors can seamlessly access these records with a simple click, streamlining the healthcare process,” Das said.
So far, as many as 15,52,561 individuals have been issued an ABHA card. The introduction of the ‘scan and share’ technology with QR codes allows for automatic upload of patient data to hospital servers upon scanning. It facilitates digital appointment allocation with doctors.
The initiative extends to enrolling private practitioners, retired doctors, laboratories, nursing homes and pharmacies into the system, ensuring comprehensive healthcare data availability to govt.
Approximately 5,000 doctors, including those specializing in modern and alternative medicines such as Ayurveda and homeopathy, are estimated to be eligible for enrolment, with 1,500 already on board.
