Agartala: Tripura govt has announced a survey to assess the language and numerical skills of Class III students. Called Endline Assessment, the survey will be conducted in govt-run schools from July 23 to July 26.
NC Sharma, director of elementary education, said, “The survey aims to assess the academic progress of students in the last one year.” The students set to be assessed this time were surveyed last year as well.
A baseline assessment survey was also conducted at home for the students who were unable to come to school on those days. Several weak students were identified in the process and remedial measures were taken for them later.
Tripura is the only state that undertook such a massive educational assessment drive covering approximately 47,000 students. To conduct the Endline survey, the elementary education department has assigned about 13,000 teachers and observers with special training.
The initiative is part of NIPUN Tripura, a state mission launched by CM Manik Saha to ensure every child has basic skills by Class III by 2026-27.
Schools in the state are also gearing up to mark the fourth anniversary of the New Education Policy as ‘Shiksha Saptah’. All seven days of ‘Shiksha Saptah’ have been planned to be celebrated as special days.
