Tripura teachers trained in puppetry to make classes enjoyable for kids

Agartala: Tripura’s directorate of elementary education has launched a programme to train educators in preparing teaching-learning material to make classes enjoyable for children in the pre-primary level. The initiative also aims to enhance the quality of education for foundational literacy and numeracy grades.
In line with this, the department held a two-day workshop on the role of puppetry in education for teachers here on Saturday. Over 100 teachers from West Tripura, Sepahijala, Khowai, and Gomati districts participated in the workshop.
“The National Education Policy 2020 emphasises on learning through activities where teaching-learning material plays a crucial role in the pre-primary and primary levels,” NC Sharma, director of elementary education, said.
He said, “If the children develop an interest in learning at an early stage, they retain it for the rest of their life. They develop an inquisitive mind, which leads to innovation, passion, and engagement in groundbreaking activities.”
