Agartala: Tripura govt, Centre, and representatives of National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) will sign a Memorandum of Settlement on Wednesday.
National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) are two banned militant outfits in Tripura.
In a statement, the ministry of home affairs announced that in the presence of Union home minister Amit Shah, the memorandum will be signed among the state and central govt, and representatives of NLFT and ATTF in New Delhi.
The statement mentioned that during the programme, Union minister Shah will oversee the signing of the settlement.
Tripura CM Manik Saha, and senior officials will be present during the event.
“Ministry of home affairs has been working tirelessly to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed northeast, free from extremism, violence, and conflict. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the govt has signed 12 important agreements to bring peace and prosperity to the northeast, of which 3 relate to the state of Tripura. Due to the signing of several agreements by the Modi Government, around 10,000 people have given up arms and joined the mainstream,” the statement added.
