Tripura IGM Hosp heritage building to undergo retrofitting: CM

Agartala: Tripura CM Manik Saha on Wednesday announced plans to retrofit the 151-year-old heritage building of the state referral hospital, Indira Gandhi Memorial (IGM), located in the city. The old IGM building, constructed in British architectural style, served patients until 2010 when a new multi-storey modern hospital building was established. But the govt didn’t demolish the old structure and declared it abandoned.“The state govt has been operating a dental college and nursing college adjacent to the hospital building on the same premises and has cleared the front view of the old building. The original building of IGM is one of the heritage constructions of Tripura, which the govt plans to preserve,” Saha said.

Construction work of Belagavi court administrative building to begin soon

The government has approved a Rs 12 crore grant to build an administrative building and canteen at the Belagavi court, addressing long-standing demands from lawyers. The project includes new chambers and improved facilities. With Rs 7 crore already released, construction is expected to commence soon after finalizing tenders.

Govt to incentivize green buildings through FSI concessions

The state government has notified FSI incentives for green buildings under the common general development control regulations. Green buildings can receive exemptions from paying between 7% and 12% of chargeable FSI based on ratings from agencies such as GRIHA, IGBC, and LEED. Non-compliant buildings face penalties twice the incentive amount if certification is not obtained during building use permission application.
