Tripura flood toll rises to 24 as four more die
Agartala: The death toll in Tripura due to rain and landslides has climbed to 24 as of Friday, following four additional casualties in Gomati district due to drowning, according to a govt release.
Of the 24 casuaties so far, nine drowned in floodwaters while 15 others lost their lives when their mud houses collapsed due to excessive rainfall in various parts of Gomati and South Tripura districts.

The Centre has allocated Rs 40 crore in advance from the State Disaster Relief Fund to provide immediate assistance to flood-hit people in Tripura.
The state has been grappling with incessant rain for four consecutive days. Reports said while five persons drowned in floodwaters, at least 15 others lost their lives when their mud houses collapsed due to excessive rainfall in various parts of Gomati and South Tripura districts.
