AGARTALA: Tripura PCC chief Asish Kumar Saha on Sunday wrote to governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, urging him to direct the govt to send an all-party delegation to the Centre to brief it about the magnitude of the floods in the state and seek help for those affected.
Addressing a press meet here, Asish said two councillors of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Shatana Saha and Lata Nath, have been accused of corruption and discrimination in relief distribution by locals as well as BJP workers.
Saha allegedly beat up a flood victim for protesting against discrimination, while Nath has been accused of poisoning a 17-year-old girl and assaulting her parents.
Police said separate complaints have been registered and investigation has begun in both cases. “We demand exemplary action against both the councillors in order to send a strong message, else affected people will be deprived of their legitimate claims,” Asish asserted, reports Biswendu Bhattacharjee.

Saha conducted an aerial survey and emphasized ongoing relief efforts.
