Tripura CM thanks Himanta for 5cr to flood-hit in state

Agartala: Tripura chief minister Manik Saha on Sunday expressed his gratitude to his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma for donating Rs 5 crore to assist the flood victims in Tripura.Assam’s minister for tourism Jayanta Malla Barua on Sunday handed over the cheque to Dr Saha at his residence.On X, Saha wrote, “My sincere thanks and gratitude to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the Government of Assam for coming forward to help the flood victims.”With the generous donation from the common people of the state and govts of UP, MP, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, Chief Minister’s Relief Fund swells over Rs 100 Cr, besides additional grant of Rs 40 Cr from central govt.Estimated loss due to floods has been projected at Rs 15000 crore. Tripura floods: CM Manik Saha vows to build house for flood victims kin; death toll reaches 28

Two people drowned in receding floodwaters in Sepahijala and Gomati districts, bringing the toll to 28. CM Manik Saha visited the family of Chiranjit Dey, who died during a rescue. Financial aid was provided. The dead include a Class IX student from Sepahijala and a Class XI student from Gomati.
