AGARTALA: In the midst of the controversy over Twitter, Tripura chief minister
Biplab Kumar Deb joined Koo - a new social media platform - and paid tribute to music maestro
Rahul Dev Burman on the latter's birth anniversary in his maiden appearance in the new platform.
The chief minister normally updated the Covid-19 vaccination status on his Twitter handle. However, on Monday night, he shared it on Koo at @bjpbiplab.
In a statement, founder & CEO of Koo Aprameya Radhakrishna said, "Deb joining Koo has created an opportunity for the people of Tripura to interact with him in their own language, which is believe to facilitate reach and access to a larger community."
The reason the platform was created was to enable the people of India to interact with their leaders and heroes, statement said, adding: "We are glad to see more and more states of India being part of this growth and citizens like to stay connected with political leaders and parties to get latest updates first hand from them, in their mother tongue, which is not offered in other platform."
Koo is a micro-blogging platform for opinions voiced in Indian languages; a trusted local space for Indians to connect, comment and engage, making it a people-first platform, it added.
Koo was founded in March 2020, as a micro-blogging platform in Indian languages.
