Protesters block road over kidnapping of minor in Tripura

Agartala: Residents of a village in Tripura’s Sepahijala district staged a protest on Friday, blocking the Sonamura-Kanthalia road, demanding the swift and safe recovery of a minor girl who was kidnapped by miscreants two days ago.The protesters, which included students and women, braved the intense heat to voice their concerns and call for the apprehension of the perpetrators. Police intervened to disperse the crowd, facing strong resistance from the protesters, and a few villagers allegedly sustained injuries during the police action.Protesters sought the intervention of CM Manik Saha, Tripura Women’s Commission and child protection bodies, citing the alleged inaction of the police in rescuing the girl.

BGB assures BSF to hand over kidnapped Tripura youth in Bangladesh
