Our govt has given 24,000 jobs in 58 months: Tripura minister Sushanta Chowdhury

AGARTALA: The BJP-led government in Tripura has already provided 24,033 jobs in its 58-month rule while 17,916 posts are waiting to be filled up as the finance department has given its nod for recruitment, said information minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Friday.
Talking to the media, he said the jobs provided by the BJP-IPFT government included 17,686 regular, fixed-pay ones, 8,103 contractual, 1,329 die-in-harness, and 5,879 outsourcing jobs in various government departments despite being hit by Covid-19 for almost one-and-a-half years.
Chowdhury hit out at the opposition parties and claimed that Tripura has not seen such a huge number of appointments in five years in the last three decades. The minister said the process for recruitment of 6,000 special executives under the home department, 5,000 multi-tasking workers from JRBT aspirants, 3,000 TET teachers, and 1,000 police constables is under way.
