Engineers’ body seeks apology from Tripura dy speaker over jibe

Agartala: The Power Engineers’ Association of Tripura on Tuesday demanded a public apology from deputy speaker of the state assembly, Biswa Bandhu Sen, for his insulting remarks against the engineers’ fraternity last week at a public meeting.They sought the intervention of speaker Ratan Chakraborty, chief minister Manik Saha and deputy chief minister Jishnu Dev Varma and urged them to resolve the issue at the earliest.Addressing a public gathering, Sen had said, “The engineers working in rural development, PWD and power department are thieves and a section of them has been actively trying to malign the government. Once BJP returns to power next year with a thumping majority, such conspiracies will not be tolerated.”
