BSF steps up vigil as Bangladesh minorities flee to Tripura border
A businessman from Brahmanbaria said, “Not only minority communities, but even Muslims who supported Hasina and those who support democracy are being targeted by the protesters. We all have been identified as India’s sympathisers.”
BSF sources said villagers from Bangladesh gathered beyond the barbed border fence in isolated pockets of Kailashahar, Kamalpur, Khowai, Simna, Narshinghar, Belabar, Kamalasagar, Sonamura and Sabroom.
South & West Tripura facing infiltration: BSF
At a few places, we spoke to the Border Guard of Bangladesh and requested them to take them back and ensure security and dignity of life for them. We are also trying to persuade them not to leave their country and are pursuing the matter with the local administration,” a BSF official at the Tripura border said.
Bangladesh: BSF meets people of border villages
The BSF held meetings with state officials and villagers in West Bengal's border areas to increase security due to unrest in Bangladesh. BSF Director General (Acting) Daljit Singh Chawdhary, along with senior commanders, reviewed the Petrapole border in Bongaon. The BSF has issued a high alert and coordinated with Border Guard Bangladesh for better security measures.
17 Indian workers stranded in Bangladesh brought back from Tripura border: BSF
Seventeen Indian road workers stranded in Bangladesh were safely brought back through the international border in Tripura. Employed by AFCONS Infrastructure, they were working on a road project from Akhaura to Kishoreganj. The Border Security Force (BSF) coordinated with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to ensure their safe return amid ongoing unrest in Bangladesh.

With 18 battalions on high alert, surveillance has been intensified and intelligence operations enhanced.
