Agartala: A local court Friday sent five Bangladesh nationals, who were arrested with fake Indian Aadhaar cards at Agartala railway station a day earlier, to two weeks of judicial custody. The court has allowed police to interrogate them in jail in order to crack down on the racket through which they managed to get the Aadhaar cards and cross over to the Indian side despite strong border vigil.Meanwhile, twelve more Bangladesh nationals, including four children and as many women, were arrested at Teliamura railway station. Police said they entered the Indian territory on Thursday night through Silacherri border in Khowai district with the help of a tout. “They spent the night in Kalahari forest. In the morning, they reached the Teliamura railway station to travel to Bangalore. The one who booked the tickets for them managed to escape. Probe is on,” police said. According to reports, infiltrators have changed their tactics and are increasingly using Udaipur and other places to board long-distance trains because of strict surveillance at Agartala station.
