Expelled AAP MLA Sherawat could not produce evidence of sexual exploitation of girls by party leaders
PATIALA: The expelled MLA of AAP Davinder Sherawat could not substantiate his allegations of sexual exploitation of girls by the leaders of AAP. On September 14 during his appearance before the Punjab Women’s Commission, he said, “There is a threat to my life and without getting security I cannot produce evidence.” He has been again summoned by the commission on September 29.
Paramjeet Kaur Landran, chairperson of women’s commission disclosed that summons were being issued to one Amandeep Kaur of Ferozepur who had alleged that AAP office bearers sexually exploited 62 girls who had joined the party.

Chairperson told TOI over the phone that AAP MLA Davinder Sherawat had in his statement before the commission mentioned about Amandeep Kaur who had information of sexually exploited 62 girls.
Landran told TOI that next hearing in the Sherawat case was fixed for September 29. Amandeep Kaur was being summoned on the same date. Sherawat and Amandeep Kaur would be jointly questioned for evidence.
Another allegation levelled by unidentified AAP volunteers in a press conference held in Chandigarh a few weeks ago had alleged that a lady had been sexually exploited by AAP’s Sangrur observer Vijay Chauhan. SSP Sangrur Pritpal Singh Thind had reacted to the allegation and offered to register a case if the lady approached the police. But the allegedly exploited lady did not show herself.
AAP’s women cell president Baljinder Kaur had approached the commission saying that some people at the behest of opposition parties were levelling baseless charges against AAP which should be stopped.

It was interesting to note that Amandeep Kaur who was allegedly privy to exploitation of 62 girls by AAP leaders, today features in a Punjabi newspaper alongwith Captain Amarinder Singh, president Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC). The Congress welcomed her joining the party after quitting AAP. Manpreet Randhawa, media coordinator of AAP said that every day new allegations were being levelled against AAP but the electorate had made up its mind to form AAP government in 2017. He welcomed complaints from the people b ut with evidence so that action could be taken.
