“Always eat where the locals like to eat”- Gaurav Kapur

Whenever you travel always ask the locals where they eat.

- Travel plan
My wife Kirat plans the destination and itinerary, I book the flights and pack my suitcase.

- Travel style
Instinctive. I don’t like to plan too much and try to go with the flow.

- Foodie moment as a traveller
So many, from a Michelin starred restaurant in Corsica to juicy burgers at Shake Shack in New York City. One of the most memorable meals I’ve eaten is at a local hole in the wall in New Orleans, a typical mum’s kitchen that had the yummiest jambalaya.

- Must-pack items
Face cream, my insulin, a hoodie and my e-reader.

- Travel lessons
Research the touristy hot spots. And then walk in the opposite direction. Also, always ask the locals where they eat.

- Funniest or scariest travel moment
It was when I was in the US, and was having a fun argument about Broadway musicals with a US immigration officer. I was trying to convince him that he should watch one.

-Travel style
Comfortable clothing, comfortable shoes.

-Travel pet peeves
The constant need for visas.

-Best family or solo travel getaway
A cottage by the beach.

Snapshots

- Travel goals

- Next Stop

One of the most memorable meals I’ve eaten was dished out of a hole in the wall.
