Sourav Ganguly isn’t spilling the beans on what his upcoming restobar will be called, but work is on in full-swing for a February (read: World Cup) launch.
While the skipper licks his wounds after losing the test series to the Kiwis, his partner Shailendra Singh blows the war horn back home, knee deep in tie-ups and strategy.
As a first, the duo have got on their side Sanjeev Kapoor who will manage the food and beverage (F&B) operations. "My involvement is complete. Once I get the positioning statement, I will prepare the entire F&B brief. For now, all I can say is that it is a restaurant for the Indian customer."
But not everything can wait for the travelling cricketer. Certainly not the sprawling 9,500 square feet property at Lower Parel in Mumbai that’s getting all dressed up to be presented as Sourav’s restobar.
For now at the mercy of architects, interior designers and their teams, what will finally emerge is a split-level arrangement with the restaurant area on the ground floor and the bar on the first.
The restobar boasts of a state-of-the-art cricket library for both restaurant-goer and walk-in cricket lovers. Available on rent will be books on cricket and also a colossal collection of cricket matches on DVDs. Eat cricket, speak cricket, read cricket, drink and see cricket. Howzzat?
