'I'm crazy about SRK'
The latest entrant to make it to the controversy list, says that any publicity is good publicity. Sanah Khan shares one similarity with the 'Khan'daan camp. Like our Salman (macho) Khan, this lissome lady is quick to enlist her name on the controversy list. Courtesy her Amul Macho ad on the small screen, which critics point out, borders on the banal.
But Sanah is quick to defend herself.
1x1 polls
"It is a clean ad. People are unnecessarily making heavy weather of it. At the best you can call it sexy or funny." Surely she has to realise that the reactions to the advertisement in the form of street protests, were far from funny. "I was a little taken aback with the initial reactions. But even negative publicity is good publicity," the 20-year-old chuckles. This is no andar ki baat that she also has an item number in Meri Doli Tere Angna to her credit.
Having done nearly 20 commercials, this girl from Mumbai is only happy to have made an appearance on television with the item song. But ask her if item numbers are a stepping stone to stardom and she answers, "Not at all. They add glamour to the script and I have no problems essaying such numbers if they are justified with the script. But if the songs are there just to grab attention and lack proper masala, then they are a waste."
Sanah also adds, "I'm a model and I want to remain one till I make it big in films. TV is not my cup of tea. I don't like serials and soap operas."
Having sent her message across, she continues that Bollywood will be her Next Big Stop. "I will be the next Khan to shine on silver screen after the male Khans, who are ruling Bollywood at present." For the present , Sanah is "doing films down South" , though she "cannot talk much about them."
What she cannot stop talking about though is how her parents supported her when she decided to join the modelling bandwagon after school. "My parents never pushed me to study more. And they have been supportive of my career moves, even though a few of the relatives had initially objected to my decision."

Wanting to make a mark in Bollywood, is Sanah aware of the casting couch there, we ask? "I haven't faced something like that till now, though I'm very much aware of it and am cautious about the same," she giggles. The youngster can hardly contain her excitement when questioned about an ad for a fairness cream with King Khan. "I am a great fan of his and it was great working with him. I just managed to say hello to him and get a picture clicked with him," Sanah adds with a smile as she continues to rave about her passion. "I'm so crazy about SRK that I even tried to commit suicide by jumping off our building, when I was in the seventh standard. It happened after my mother was about to throw away all the SRK memorabilia I had collected over the years. But finally I won my mother over."
'Khan' you believe it?
