Take for instance actor Indrani Dutta. The owner of a grand home, she has a taste for home decor.
She might be doing the stain glass painting on her doors herself but for the curtains and the sofa covers she believes in elaborate shopping. I have already started the pre-Puja decoration and I am loving all those new thing that are on offer.
During my shopping binge, I made sure that I picked up gold embossed sofa covers in dark hues of blue, brown and green. The velvet-touch materials are just right for my home decor. I bought some vibrant yellows and oranges for my child's room.
I am looking forward to those four days of Puja when my friends will come over and marvel at the make-over I have given to my home, says Indrani. But she is not the only one, actor Arunima Ghosh is also a giving a new touch to her home.
"I have already changed the curtains and just before saptami I will colour match the bedcovers and cushions. It feels great to work on your home. While celebrity anchor Madhumanti Maitra, who has a penchant for everything ethnic, starting from her saree to the bed linen, is also into a make-over mode.

"I usually shop round the year and pick and choose artifacts that appeal to my aesthetic senses," she said, adding, "I will just mix and match and get the all new look."
Kamlesh Agarwal, owner of Skipper, says, "Our festive special furnishing maha mela offer, which began on August 15, is a major hit now. Earlier people would buy curtains and keep it so for a year at least but now people love variety at home.
Right now we are giving 20 to 50 per cent discount in our exhaustive range of lifestyle products." He also added that Skipper specialises in carpets, doormats, wooden flooring, mattresses, pillows, cushions, bedcovers, bed sheets, table covers, tablemats, curtains, drapery rods and many others.
Even the eminent architect J P Agarwal said that just before Pujas he will change the entire furnishing of his own home. "To me, bright colours of curtains and upholstery depict the cheerful mood of the festival and I personally like contrasts. I feel everybody should make their own home a vibrant one in this season," says Agarwal. We couldn't agree more!
