WASHINGTON:

Michael Wolff

’s book Fire and Fury: Inside the

Trump

White House, which has ignited a firestorm in Washington DC, portrays Donald Trump as being in favour of the H-1B visas during the transition period when he was President-elect, after having campaigned to curtail the visa, and eventually moving to fulfill his campaign promise.

According to excerpts from the book published in New York magazine, Trump’s sketchy grasp of issues like H-1B visas and his ficklemindedness is evident in a conversation he has with media tycoon

Rupert Murdoch

, whose friendship and validation Trump frequently sought despite the latter’s contempt for him.

On December 14, a highlevel delegation from

Silicon Valley

came to Trump Tower to meet the President-elect. Later that afternoon, Wolff writes, Trump called Rupert Murdoch, who asked him how the meeting had gone. “Oh, great, just great,” says Trump. “These guys really need my help. Obama was not very favourable to them, too much regulation. This is really an opportunity for me to help them.” “Donald,” says Murdoch, “'for eight years these guys had Obama in their pocket. They practically ran the administration. They don’t need your help.”

"Take this H-1B visa issue. They really need these H-1B visas,” says Trump. Murdoch suggests that taking a liberal approach to H-1B visas, which open America’s doors to select immigrants, might be hard to square with his promises to build a wall and close the borders. But Trump seems unconcerned, assuring Murdoch, “We’ll figure it out.”

“What a f…ing idiot,” Wolff quotes Murdoch as saying (on the basis of third party accounts) as he gets off the phone. It’s not the first time someone is said to have used such an epithet – without denying it. US secretary of state Rex Tillerson was also reported calling Trump a “f**king moron”.

In fact I had visited bay area many times.. Most of the years Indians spend there worrying about visa extension, student to opt to h1 to h1 ext to GC application, approvals, waiting & waiting, clicking e-mail refresh button every 10 sec for mail from USCIS.. Sleepless nights about some papers to be submitted, worries on spelling in names & differences in other ID proofs.. For years our so called talented Indians live this way during their stay.. In between they get the most beautiful girl from India who will just cut away their lovers for marrying h-1b guy and fly leaving them heart broken for years.. next you will see their vacations in fb.. Eventually they turn fearful about everything, unable to laugh or enjoy any happiness in life, obsessively over disciplined, worried about the travel costs, making old mothers to travel for pregnency & delivery service, living at the gun point of employer/manager, forcefully behaving well mannered & disciplined (good thing), overall living a cocooned life while burning out from inside for 10-12 years to get gc and then unable to get back to cheerful life.. Why should India worry about you and spend crores to lobby, make our leaders travel and visit white house for their mercy? America is reforming for their growth and we shouldn''''t loose our respect. Let''''s build a better home than demanding for living in other''''s bungalw. Indian social standards got split due to IT & USA.. we need to reverse this effect for a better tomorrow. We blame the polititians but never attempt to make a change for our homeland and make it globally competent! Please feel positive about being with your parents & siblings than thinking that you have lost your dignity to some opponent by returning to India. It is unwise to move your live on to the other side of the earth just for the reason someone started this practice. They all grew with inventions & hardworking but here we talked only philosophy. We need to make a better change, protect & save our environment.. Jai hind!!''
