Wipro CEO Thierry Delaporte resigns; Srinivas Pallia to succeed him

Wipro CEO Thierry Delaporte has resigned, with Srinivas Pallia set to take over from April 7, the IT major announced on Saturday. Pallia, previously the CEO for the Americas 1 area, will step into the role of CEO and Managing Director. Wipro announced the appointment of Srini Pallia effective immediately. “He succeeds Thierry Delaporte, who, after spearheading a significant transformation at Wipro for the last four years, is stepping down to pursue passions outside the workplace,” said Wipro in a statement.
Commenting on the new appointment, Rishad Premji, Chairman, Wipro Ltd said, “Srini is an ideal leader to lead Wipro at this pivotal moment for our company and industry.Over the past four years, Wipro has undergone a major transformation under the most challenging external conditions. According to Rishad Premji, Thierry will remain in his role until the end of May, collaborating closely with Srini and me to facilitate a seamless transition.
