WEF Davos 2026: Team India pitches ‘partner with Bharat’ message; AI and investment in focus
From a new address in Davos, once occupied by the iconic Piano Bar, Team India has sent out a clear message ahead of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting — partner with Bharat and subscribe to the future.
The India Pavilion on the snow-laden main promenade of the Swiss ski resort town reflects this theme, with a strong focus on investment opportunities and technological collaboration.
The message is being echoed by industry bodies and corporate India, with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) pitching a similar line at its pavilion: partner India Inc for a reliable future, reported news agency PTI.
As the five-day global conclave gets underway from Monday, Indian IT majors have also set up their own pavilions and lounges, with artificial intelligence emerging as the dominant theme.
Wipro and TCS have lounges facing each other across the promenade, while Infosys, HCL Tech and Tech Mahindra are located nearby. There is even a dedicated AI lounge, alongside tea and coffee stalls.
Wipro is positioning itself around “AI and beyond”, while TCS is highlighting that it is embedding AI across every service it delivers, according to PTI.
More than 100 Indian CEOs are present in Davos, along with a large government delegation.
Several Indian states, including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Telangana, have also set up pavilions to showcase investment opportunities.
Senior Union ministers such as Ashwini Vaishnaw, Pralhad Joshi and K Rammohan Naidu are expected to participate in the meeting and hold bilateral discussions.
Chief ministers including Devendra Fadnavis, N Chandrababu Naidu, Mohan Yadav, Hemant Soren and Himanta Biswa Sarma will promote their respective states to global investors.
While US President Donald Trump is seen as the biggest draw at this year’s summit, India is also generating considerable interest.
Overall, more than 3,000 global leaders are attending the 56th annual meeting in Davos, being held under the theme “a spirit of dialogue”, as per PTI.
