NEW DELHI: Global private equity investor EM Warburg Pincus, which has so far invested $650 million in various Indian companies, is in the process of investing another $50 million this year in two Indian companies.

warburg, he said, would announce the first investment in february 2002 followed by the second one in august, pathak said. "the investment has just been concluded, but the announcement would be made as per this timeframe," he added. of the $650 million that warburg has so far invested in india, the largest chunk of $300 million has been invested in bharti tele-ventures. this is the largest investment made by the company in india. warburg has so far invested $7 billion in various companies worldwide. other companies in its indian portfolio include rediff.com, hdfc, nicholas piramal and utv.
