NEW DELHI: Indiantelevision.com has recognized Times Group MD Vineet Jain’s initiative to successfully steer the Times of India group into the news television business and conferred on him the ‘Contribution to News Television Award’.
“The group has under your leadership made its mark in television broadcasting despite entering it relatively later than some of the other media houses.
Channels such as Times Now, ET Now and Zoom are either leaders or on their way to attain a leadership position. A large part of the credit goes to you. It is your vision, your commitment and your contribution towards pushing standards of excellence in news and other forms of TV that the Sixth News Television Awards salutes,” it said.
At the award function on Monday, executive president Rahul Kansal accepted the award on behalf of Jain. He has spearheaded the Times Group’s foray into new media — internet, radio and television. In a short span of time, Radio Mirchi and Times Now are No 1 brands in their respective domains. Separately, ET Now’s show Traders 20 won the award for Live Telecast show.
