Vande Bharat sleeper trains: Indian Railways has lined up multiple projects to roll out the Vande Bharat Express sleeper version in the coming years. One such project is a tie-up between India’s Rail Vikas Nigam Limited and Russia’s TMH. A special purpose vehicle or SPV by the name of Kinet has been established for the execution of the Vande Bharat sleeper trains project. We bring you an exclusive look at the Vande Bharat sleeper train concept images that have been proposed by the Kinet SPV, subject to approval from the Indian Railways:

Vande Bharat sleeper train by Kinet will be rolled out in two years time as per the contract that has been signed between all the parties and in line with Indian Railways mandate. Vande Bharat sleeper will be a 16 coach train with 11 AC-3 tier coaches, 4 AC-2 tier coaches and 1 AC 1st coach. This can be augmented to 20 car set or 24 car set depending on the requirement of Indian Railways. (Concept image by Kinet, subject to approval from Indian Railways)

Capable of running at speeds of 160 kmph, Vande Bharat sleeper trains will boast of faster acceleration and deceleration, hence resulting in faster travel and reduced transit time for passengers. Another Vande Bharat sleeper train project in works involves BEML and ICF. The first Vande Bharat sleeper train prototype will be rolled out by BEML by early 2024.
