CHENNAI: Home appliances maker Usha International, which recently forayed into the lighting segment under the brand name Tisva, has launched its first store in Chennai.
This is the brand’s seventh store in India and its first outlet in South India. The company plans to have eight stores in the south, including Bangalore, Hyderabad, Coimbatore and Trichy.

The brand’s products include an LED designer range, chandeliers, wall lights, mood lighting products pendants and utility products including CFLs, LED Lamps, T5 Battens and downlights, priced between Rs 2,000 and Rs 40,000.
The brand also has a range of lights -- shaped like cars or with cartoon characters on them -- meant specially for children. It would tie up with Barbie and Hot Wheels for more products, Rajesh Kocchar, president of Tisva, said.
The range of products targets the residential segment, particularly middle and upper middle income households. “There are a lot of real estate projects and new housing coming up in Chennai and since that is our target segment, we have entered the south India market through Chennai,” Kocchar said.
