Ujjivan Small Finance Bank

on Tuesday opened seven

unbanked rural centres

(URCs) in Tamil Nadu. The URCs have been opened in hitherto unbanked villages like Mullipallam, Genganallore, Iruppu, Panaiyur, Kottamangalam, Keelarajakularaman and Villandhidasa Samuthiram.

Ujjivan said this in line with the Reserve Bank of India's mandate to open 25% of new branches in unbanked rural areas.

The company will also open a URC at Boganallur as part of its financial inclusion plan.

“We have received a tremendous preliminary response from the unbanked rural areas. The residents of these villages are reaching out to us for financial support for their agriculture and other businesses. At Ujjivan
