UAE suspends visa-on-arrival for travelers from India; Oman opens for fully vaccinated desis from Sept 1

NEW DELHI: The UAE has temporarily suspended visa-on-arrival for travelers from India who have been in India in 14 days before arriving there, according to Abu Dhabi-based Etihad airline.

Travel rules during the pandemic constantly change and travelers need to check for destination-wise requirements before planning any trip.

“The UAE authorities have decided to temporarily suspend the visa-on-arrival facility for passengers who are arriving from or been in India in the past 14 days. We're working to update our website,” Etihad’s official guest relations Twitter account said Monday.

Meanwhile Oman has allowed fully vaccinated travelers from India (those wo have got Covishield) starting September 1. The second dose should have been taken at least 14 days before heading there, among other conditions that need to be met for travelers to be allowed in Oman.

Travelers need to check entry requirements before they travel. Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority Monday announced lifting the travel of restrictions from some countries like India from 12 pm (Oman local time) on September 1, 2021.
