After Byju’s meltdown, one is almost wary of telling stories of incredible growth. But this one’s a story of organic growth, not of acquisitions. It has not been fuelled by extraordinary amounts of venture funding. For now, it’s an asset-light model. And the venture turned cash positive in fiscal year 2022-23.
Amrit Acharya, Srinath Ramakkrushnan, Rahul Sharma, Vishal Chaudhary, and Ankit Fatehpuria’s Bengaluru-based Zetwerk did Rs 11,449 crore ($1.4 billion) in operating revenue in 2022-23, barely five years after they founded it. That figure was 131% higher than in the year before, which in turn was nearly 500% higher than in the year before that.
