The company recorded a GWP of Rs 15,423 crore in the previous year of FY24.

"The share of our health insurance portfolio is expected to increase to 25% in the current financial year from 20% in FY24. We are seeing an increase in demand from tier 3 and 4 cities," he said. The scope for health insurance in the country is vast because only 4% of the population has been covered through retail health insurance, he added.

Noting that Tamil Nadu has consistently seen higher cashless claim volumes compared to the rest of India, especially in the post-Covid era, he said the state's cashless utilization is at 65% in FY2024-25.
