Stock market today: Major indices Sensex and Nifty declined on Friday, ending their three-day positive streak due to selling pressure in key stocks like Infosys, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank. Continuous foreign fund outflows and high crude oil prices in global markets also affected market sentiment.

The BSE Sensex fell 423.49 points or 0.55 per cent, closing at 76,619.33, after dropping as low as 76,263.29 during the trading session. The NSE Nifty ended lower by 108.60 points or 0.47 per cent at 23,203.20.

Among Sensex constituents, Infosys saw a nearly 6 per cent decline despite its improved annual sales forecast.

Infosys Ltd, India's second-largest IT services firm, on Thursday reported an 11.46 per cent rise in the third quarter net profit on pick-up in demand, which also prompted the company to raise its annual sales forecast for a third time this fiscal year.

Axis Bank shares also dropped over 4 per cent after the bank's earnings announcement.

Other significant decliners included Kotak Mahindra Bank, TCS, Mahindra & Mahindra, ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, HDFC Bank and Bajaj Finserv.

Reliance Industries gained 2.50 per cent following strong quarterly results showing improved performance across retail, telecom and core businesses.

Top gainers included Zomato, Reliance, Nestle, Asian Paints and Power Grid.

Asian markets showed mixed results, with Seoul and Tokyo declining while Shanghai and Hong Kong advanced.

European markets traded positively while US markets closed lower on Thursday.

FIIs sold equities worth Rs 4,341.95 crore on Thursday, as per exchange data.

Brent crude rose 0.17 per cent to USD 81.43 per barrel.

On Thursday, the BSE Sensex had gained 318.74 points or 0.42 per cent to reach 77,042.82, while Nifty advanced 98.60 points or 0.42 per cent to 23,311.80.
