Spice Money announces multiple partnerships with Odisha govt
MUMBAI: Spice Money, a subsidiary of Digispice Technologies, on Thursday announced a series of collaborations under the Govt of Odisha’s Bharat Netra programme at the Black Swan Summit Odisha to deepen financial inclusion and expand digital finance access in the state.
The initiatives, unveiled at the summit in Odisha, have commenced with the signing of an MoU with GFTN and the state’s Electronics & IT Department. No timeline for completion has been disclosed. The partnership aims to promote financial inclusion, digital literacy and livelihood opportunities through technology-led interventions, with a focus on women-led entrepreneurship and talent development.
As part of the collaboration, Spice Money recruited 29 students from the inaugural 195-member cohort of a Certification Course in FinTech & InsurTech launched by GFTN in association with the National University of Singapore. The company also proposed the use of programmable CBDC to support Mission Shakti through targeted, outcome-linked welfare transfers and improved transparency in disbursements.
The company plans to introduce digital savings and payment solutions, including a UPI-based wallet tailored for women new to digital financial services in Odisha. It will also leverage its network of over 1.6 million Adhikaris to digitise the Self-Help Group ecosystem and strengthen financial autonomy and transparency at the grassroots level. No financial outlay was disclosed.
Spice Money operates across 19,000-plus pincodes covering 95% of rural India, serves over 150 million customers in more than 2.5 lakh villages, runs over 100,000 Mini ATMs and processes more than 20 million monthly transacting customers. It holds a BBPOU licence under the BBPS framework and offers banking, bill payments, insurance and digital gold services.
