Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday said it has appointed M
Rajeshwar Rao
as executive director after G Mahalingam voluntary retired from the apex bank.
As ED, Rao will look after the department of statistics and information management, financial markets operation and international. In his earlier role, he worked as the apex bank's chief general manager, financial markets operations department.
With a BA in economics and an MBA, Rao is a certificated associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers.
Rao, who joined the RBI in 1984, has also worked as the banking ombudsman, New Delhi.
