PTW, a Singapore-based semiconductor solutions provider, has secured interest from RRP Electronics Ltd to purchase a silicon wafer production line. The agreement includes the transfer of process and technology know-how.
RRP Electronics, an OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) company in India, is expected to complete the purchase by 2025. Pilot production is scheduled to begin in 2025-26, with full capacity expected within two years. As per the report, at full capacity, the plant could generate over $1.2 billion in revenue with more than a 60% gross profit margin, based on current market benchmarks.
PTW plans to sell two additional wafer production lines to Indian customers within the next one to two years. The company aims to support India’s semiconductor manufacturing capacity and reduce reliance on imported electronics.
