Kitchen Appliances has launched a new tech-powered manufacturing facility at
Thaiyur
, near Chennai, as part of its ‘
Make In India’ push.
The new 70,000-square-foot
mixer-grinder
manufacturing and assembly unit was inaugurated by dignitaries from Royal Philips in a ceremony on Friday.
Roy Jakobs, chief business leader, personal health, Royal Philips, said, “We are proud that our
manufacturing unit
is Lean certified and all our products will be RoHS compliant.”
“The facility is equipped with top notch technologies like cobots to increase efficiency and to deliver high quality products to our consumers."
Srinivasan Subramanian, MD, Preethi Kitchen Appliances, said, “With the strategic need for portfolio diversification, we strengthened the innovation and development team and also invested behind gas stoves as a category. This has now emerged as the second key category and attained significant contribution within a short span of three years.”
Preethi claims a 20% share in the mixer-grinder market and is said to have registered “strong double-digit" growth in the past years.
As part of Indian households worldwide, Preethi also serves the Indian diaspora in 14 countries through its exports.
The brand has a network of over 10,000 dealers, over 100 distributors and 96 service centres across the country.
