Last month, around four lakh distributors, alleging discriminatory pricing by top consumer goods companies, threatened to stop stocking goods from December 15.

“We met top officials from Nestle and Haldiram’s so far and they have assured us that they will slowly reduce and eventually stop deep discounting in modern trade and e-commerce,” Dhairyashil Patil, national president of the All India Consumer Products Distributors Federation (AICPDF) told TOI.

While a Haldiram’s spokesperson could not be reached, when contacted by TOI, a

Nestle India

spokesperson said, “All our channel partners are important for us and we regularly engage with them.”
