Maruti Suzuki Q2 net up 8% at Rs 3,349 crore

NEW DELHI: Maruti Suzuki India on Friday reported an 8% rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 3,349 crore for the second quarter ended Sept 30, driven by robust exports growth.

The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 3,102 crore in the same period of the last fiscal, Maruti Suzuki India said in a regulatory filing. Its consolidated total revenue from operations stood at Rs 42,344 crore against Rs 37,449 crore in the year-ago period. The company's total expenses in the second quarter rose to Rs 39,018 crore from Rs 33,879 crore a year ago. In a statement, the company said its domestic wholesales declined 5% year-on-year to 4,40,387 units in the second quarter due to customers deferring buying.
