KIOCL Limited
on July 1. He succeeds
Malay Chatterjee
, who demited office on completion of five-year tenure in KIOCL Ltd. Subba Rao, a BTech from NITW and MBA, has played a key role in introducing gas based DRI/HBI in steel making through electric arc furnace, induction furnace, and COREX.
He has presented and published several technical papers related to steel making, sponge iron, modernization of steel industry. As director (commercial), Subba Rao was able to improve turnover of the company to above Rs 1800 crore which is highest since inception. He has also played a key role in developing domestic pellet market as well as global market. He is instrumental in introducing use of pellets in public sector plants like SAIL, RINL and so on.
