Jiyyo goes big in rural with 1,000 e-clinics

NEW DELHI: Aimed at maximizing healthcare outreach in the rural hinterland of the country,

Jiyyo

has set up 1000 e-clinics in 180-plus rural districts through its franchise models to bridge the big digital divide existing in rural and semi-urban India.

Chandigrah based

Jiyyo Innovations

installs its telemedicine kit in partner clinics and medical stores with help from local healthcare professionals to empower patients in rural areas to instantly connect with specialised doctors in cities and towns in a timely manner.

“What we are doing through the Jiyyo health centres is providing access to city-based doctors to village areas. By keeping a healthcare professional in the loop, we are only enhancing the medical experience to the rural population. Our model also ensures that telemedicine upgradation actually provides economic enhancement to these people,” said

Siddharth Angrish

, co-founder and CEO at Jiyyo.

The telemedicine kit provided by the startup includes an

Android

setup box, wireless printer, and a 24-inches LED TV.

Having set-up the first e-Clinic in April 2019 in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, these Jiyyo health clinics have covered the entire north India belt and around 30% of

Central India

through its network of e-clinics and pathology lab.

Jiyyo came up with the idea to set up low cost, telemedicine centers in rural and semi-urban places where 70% of the Indian population resides as they have very little medical facilities on ground and the patient has to travel to the city to seek treatment from specialized doctors.

Siblings Meghna Sharma and Siddharth Angrish, along with their friend Jahid Ali founded the venture

Jiyyo Mitra

e-clinic in 2017.
