Institutional investment in realty up 18%
Institutional investments in the real estate sector touched $3. 6 billion during January-September 2022, registering an increase of 18% YoY. According to a Colliers India report, the inflows during the period were driven by the office sector, which went up by 53% to $1. 8 billion, accounting for 50% of shares.
The institutional investment in the residential sector during the first nine months of 2022 declined by 42% to $276. 5 million from $472. 9 million in the same period of 2021. However, the report cautioned that while investors remain committed to the Indian market, the concerns over global recession could lead to some delay in fund deployment.
