Banking and IT sector movements will be vital indicators for market direction, experts suggest.

"Traders will keep a close watch on global market trends. The performance of the banking and IT sectors will be crucial in determining the market's next move," said Ajit Mishra - SVP, Research, Religare Broking Ltd.

According to V K Vijayakumar, chief investment strategist at Geojit Financial Services, Trump's victory has influenced US equity and bond markets. Share prices have risen due to anticipated benefits from Trump's proposed corporate tax reductions and business-friendly policies.

Regarding market dynamics, Manish Goel, Founder and MD, Equentis said that investors are watching Maharashtra's electoral situation carefully for indications of political continuity and possible policy shifts.

"Immediate market reactions are expected based on the outcome and perceived stability of the new government. The election result will influence both state governance and broader Indian market sentiment," Goel said.

Markets resumed their downward movement following a brief stable period, declining over 2.5% weekly. Despite starting flat, pressure from major stocks drove indices lower, ending the week's final session quietly.
Increasing CPI inflation worries and underwhelming corporate performance reports negatively affected market sentiment.

The indices closed near weekly lows, with Nifty at 23,532.70 and Sensex at 77,580.30.

Most industry sectors followed the declining trend, with metals, FMCG, and automobile shares experiencing significant losses.

The IT sector demonstrated strength, achieving nearly one percent gain despite widespread selling pressure. The broader market indicators, including mid and small-cap shares, experienced substantial declines, each dropping over 4 percent.
