CHENNAI: Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) will introduce its best-selling SUV, Santa Fe, in India by the end of this year, H W Park, managing director, said on Monday.
Speaking to reporters after announcing the launch of the company’s fourth dealership in Chennai, V3 Hyundai, Park said the company will launch the crossover midsize SUV as a completely-built unit.
“We will launch the Santa Fe in India this year. It will be a completely-built unit (CBU). We will consider manufacturing it as completely knock down (CKD) units may be after two to three years. But, that will be done after proper feasibility studies,” Park said.
HMIL is also in the process of giving a facelift for the i20 and other models. He also said the company’s small car (which is pegged in the Santro segment) was “well in the development stage”.
